Dusk of the Republic

Episode 2: Dark Before the Dawn

Long ago in a galaxy far, far away…

The Galactic Senate, under the new leadership of Chancellor Palpatine, struggles to maintain order in the galaxy, despite recent challenges from the Trade Federation. Some fear that recent events on Naboo were only a prelude to further conflict.

The Jedi Order, guardians of peace and justice in the Galactic Republic, have only recently faced the threats posed by a new and mysterious Sith Warrior, Darth Maul. Always there are two, a master and an apprentice…but which was he?

Thorun, an Ithorian Jedi apprentice, discovered that his Master was on Yavin 4 (the fourth moon surrounding the gas giant Yavin in the Yavin system…in case there was any confusion). While Thorun’s master, Adari Etima, was on a secret mission to investigate an ancient Sith artifact, Etima and another Jedi were ambushed by unidentified battle droids. Accompanied by Zander, Tem, Carlos, Th’hassk, and the Taung, and guided by the force, Thorun raced to rescue his Master and reached him just in time to prevent his death at the hands of the droids. But as the dark artifact was removed from it’s ancient chest, the heroes were rendered unconscious…lying helpless in the hidden cave.

Decades later…

…a fledgling rebellion has been gathering resources and allies with the hopes of someday overthrowing the ruthless Empire. The galaxy is now ruled by Emperor Palpatine, and the Jedi Order has been decimated. Any Jedi or force sensitive individuals that have survived annihilation at the hands of Darth Vader are either compelled to join the dark side or must hide from the Emperor’s Inquisitors. Two Jedi have managed to elude the the dark side (not without temptation), but have not met another Jedi or force sensitive in many years…perhaps wondering if they are the last of their order.

On a remote planet in the Outer Rim, seven heroes (Naan, Deux, Zed, Massek, Kedlo, Ellor, and Bien) have just managed to win a tournament hosted by the notorious crime lords, the Hutts, while competing for the Weequay pirate, Hondo Ohnaka. The heroes spend a night celebrating their victory and prepare for the final day of the festivities. But before they claim their prize, Massek has arranged a meeting with two slaves of the Hutts, a thief named Darius and his young, street-wise, force-sensitive daughter, Zara…
